Every Thursday, Gimme Radio Program Director, Brian Turner, delivers the top 5 jaw-dropping tracks on Gimme Radio.
Culled from the week’s past shows, these tracks have the Gimme Radio DJs' seal of approval, have the listeners demanding more and the Gimme office buzzing.
Eadem – "Delusions of Grandeur"

Eadem translates to "Itself" in Latin. The dark curatorial minds at Iron Bonehead issue forth more Portuguese weirdness that sounds like someone threw a pile of dirt on the master tapes. Each track on Eadem's new mini-LP is named after an individual sickness or disease incurred by the album's protagonist at an asylum.
Cultes des Ghoules – "Children of the Moon"

"Polish Black Metal Birthday Party" comparisons are spot on, though the return of CdG throbs and oozes in a bloozy black hole that lies somewhere uglier than Nick Cave might have ever stared down into. A monotonous scuzz-covered singular riff driven ad infinitum, tortured moans, moog UFOs lifting off and landing throughout.
Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats – "No Return"

A relatively slow burner for the new Wasteland album, but one that builds on a surging drone of fuzz and their trademark evil/giddy vocals to drive it into higher gears and deeper realms of mellotron-flaked stoner psychedelia than previous. Uncle Acid know their tools of trade and provide consistently good atmosphere to these new jams.
Dirge – "Montezuma's Revenge"

Fiery, Mayan-themed intense doom from the heart of Mumbai, India. This track vaults layers of acid-soaked guitars on top of each other while vocalist Tabish's tortured screams chronicle the onslaught of Cortez. Raw and repetitive but with some complexity to interest fans of Neurosis and their ilk.
AKITSA – "Le Monde et Ma Bile"

The latest offering on Profound Lore from these French-Canadian titans features deeper-than-previous palette of pronounced moods being offered up; this track in particular surges with heavy sorrow amidst their usual blizzard of raw blackened guitars.
