CRYPTAE – Concrete Inferno

A press blurb that namedrops Morbid Angel and Magma? Hello. This Dutch band flawlessly dissolves the pot of 90's death metal DNA into a strange and abstract stew that certainly nullifies the concept of 'song': instead this insane, thrashing organism sits in the middle of your parlour eminating total hate/waste/toxicity in all directions and jumbled rhythms, cloaked with a smothering layer of dystopian noise. Bring it along to your next party and watch the spectacle.

SARCATOR – The Hour of Torment

While it's merely a footnote here, Marko Tervonen of Sweden's the Crown's 16 year old son rips on guitar with this band, made up of all 16-20 year olds who completely sound like 90's elder statesmen! Total death/thrash mayhem out October 30th on Redefining Darkness, and don't miss their guest DJ special coming up on Gimme Monday November 9th!

RAGEHAMMER – Beneath the Red Suns

Poland continues to knock everyone to the floor and the quartet of The Hellstörm, Bestial Avenger, Corpsebutcher and Mortar pony up their second full length LP which continues to demo their ability to whip up a furious black/death tornado. A recent fave on Horrox's 'By This Wax I Rule'!

Wytch Hazel's vocalist Colin Pendra seems right on, wedding his Pentacostal Christian stance with love for Black Sabbath, and the band is certainly one to wed eras, ideologies and stylistic approaches to metal, because metal is freedom. Definitely the spectre of Maiden and Schenker looms large over this Lancashire UK outfit, with a classicness that is forward-thinking as well.

WAR CLOUD – Chain Gang

Righteous Northern CA UFO/Pentagram nods from this combo featuring Tony Campos on guitar from Bay Area heavies Hell Fire. Heavy, 70's-leaning theatrics, plus they got their name from a Wicked Lady track! A good teaser for the upcoming special on Ripple Music coming up on Gimme Saturday October 17th (hosted by Ripple's Todd Severin).
