Hey there tech fiends, it's that time of the week again. Before we dive into today's focus, here's the usual reminder that if you're looking for more sick music, all prior editions of this series can be perused here.
Here's to another week this year with some awesome new early music for anyone reading this. Today's focus is an exclusive song premiere for "Suffer in Silence" from established Vancouver-based act Exterminatus.
While it's only been two years since the group released their fantastic second album, Laniakea, which was premiered here, the band is already hard at work finishing their third full-length. Which will be released when it's ready, whether that's this year or next. As usual, you can scroll below and check out today's premiere or read on for more information about the song and the band.
The song being premiered today, "Suffer in Silence", is definitely a killer snapshot of an already talented group continuing to expand their capabilities toward further greatness. For anyone new to the group, Exterminatus has a very strong grasp on delivering tech-death with a bit of something for everyone. From hefty grooves to devastating brutality, to prog-death flourishes, potent melodies, hyper-active shredding, and beyond. What sets them apart from other groups who take a hodgepodge type approach to tech death is the quality of their ideas and their ability to make every bit of what they do flow together seamlessly.
As usual, I asked the band if I could get some more information about this new single and the upcoming third album. The band was kind enough to share that "We chose "Suffer in Silence" as the first demo in order to highlight the direction in which Exterminatus is heading musically. We thought it was a great representation of what the upcoming album, featuring a more crushing, dark, and technical sound (one could almost say a more "Swedish" sound).
This new single from the band is one of the "middle chapters" from their upcoming third full-length album tentatively titled "E.F.a.D.S". The album will delve into and touch on topics ranging from the creation (and recreation) of this universe, the simulation theory, "God" and temporal causality loops."
