Greetings tech fiends, it's that time of the week again. Before we dive into today's column, here's the usual weekly reminder that if you're looking to find even more sick bands, you can do so here.

Are you ready to venture into the briny depths with us? The tongue-in-cheek shark and ocean-obsessed dudes in Eaten By Sharks are ready to share another new song. I'm excited to help premiere their ferocious and catchy new single "Depth Charge" today. The song comes from the band's upcoming album, Eradication. Which is set for release on August 26th.

If you're new to the group, they're from Ontario, and like the majority of Canadian tech-death bands, they're damn good at what they do. Don't let the goofy band name and oddball cover art fool you, this is not amateur hour stuff. I guess just think of their oceanic aesthetic the same way you do Vampire Squid or Slugdge for those who are mollusk inspired. It's just part of the show, not the whole show itself. I do wonder if they are fans of Street Sharks though.

As for what the song has to offer, "Depth Charge" is built on continual flipping back and forth between heavy groove terrain and frenetic riffs aided by ripping leads. In doing so, the song feels almost wave-like in its structure, an ever-changing stream of back and forth battling going on underwater. From the time I've spent listening to the full release, this is definitely an album many of you will enjoy.

So be sure to check out Eaten By Sharks' "Depth Charge" below. Pre-orders for Eradication can be placed via Bandcamp. You can follow the group over on the Eaten By Sharks Facebook Page.
