Here is a really insightful interview with Slayer frontman Tom Araya, where he talks about the band's start and how they went from being unsigned nobodies to initially "making it" with their first few releases. They also talk about meeting Rick Rubin. It's crazy to think that while Rubin was out in NY helping invent hip-hop, he happened to stumble on this LA-area band who would re-define metal. Rubin = God! Also, Tom Araya comes off as calm, cool and collective as always. Imagine how awesome it would be to smoke a doob with this guy? Really awesome! Here is the rest of the interview:
