After all the waiting and all the mystery surrounding whether they were a band anymore, Fear Factory is finally back with a new single called "Disruptor". The single is off their upcoming album Aggression Continuum, due out June 18. As for "Disruptor", it definitely feels less mechanical and a lot more bouncy than the band's previous efforts, though still retains that classic Fear Factory sound. It's good!
"This record is one of my proudest achievements and I'm really excited for it to finally be released," said guitarist Dino Cazares. "There were a lot of personal struggles, sacrifices, and legal issues involved with this record which almost didn't see the light of day, but through passion determination, lots of hard work and not giving up the fight, it’s finally ready for the world to hear.
"I felt that I needed to prove myself once again as I always try and make each record better than the last. Listen, and understand! This album is pissed! It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear and it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are hooked. You must fight to survive in the Aggression Continuum."
Aggression Continuum is Fear Factory's final album with vocalist Burton C. Bell, though according to Cazares, the band might already have his replacement in mind. Also given the very public spat between Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares lately, including Bell discussing a physical altercation the two had and Cazares making thinly-veiled comments about Burton, it might be safe to assume they're not getting back together any time soon.
