METALLICA's "Hardwired" Recorded with SLAYER, MEGADETH, PANTERA Tones Is A Fun Experiment

"What if Metallica's Hardwired [would] have been recorded by Dimebag, Jeff Hanneman, Scott Ian or Dave Mustaine?"

"What if Metallica's Hardwired [would] have been recorded by Dimebag, Jeff Hanneman, Scott Ian or Dave Mustaine?"

A few weeks back, a Metallica fan decided to see what the band's new single, "Hardwired…to Self Destruct" would sound like if it were done in the band's classic album tones.

Today, Youtube user Mateus Elildo decided to take the experiment a step further by seeing what the new track would sound like with classic tones from Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera and Anthrax. Mateus writes "What if Metallica's Hardwired [would] have been recorded by Dimebag, Jeff Hanneman, Scott Ian or Dave Mustaine?" The resulting video is a fun "what-if."

How do you feel about this tone test trend? Ultimatlely, it's a fun experiment, and I really dig the Pantera tone here. Which tone works best for you?
