METALLICA Claim Therapist in Some Kind of Monster Saved The Band

Some kind of therapist.

Some kind of therapist.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Some Kind of Monster and Metallica feel this is a need for celebration.

I recently revisited the documentary with my Livecast co-hosts as we live-critiqued watching the movie on one of my favorite episodes of the RIP a Livecast ever. The band decide to revisit the movie as well and have produced a new short documentary called "This Monster Lives" which will be included with the BluRay re-release of the film, out today. Here is the teaser:

What's interesting is the band directly addresses criticism that we spoke about in our live running commentary, including the therapist's terrible choice in sweaters, how the metal community felt this was too transparent and how it made the band look bad. The band seem unfazed.

What's interesting is the quote about the therapist saving the band completely. It seemed at the time he was only stirring the pot, but of course that could just be editing. I'm surprised Metallica feels this way.

Either way, you can buy the BluRay on Amazon right now for $16.98.

…and seriously, check out the Livecast where we did a Some Kind of Monster running commentary.
