Decibel Clips of the Month August 2015: Myrkur, Cradle of Filth, Chris Holmes & Classic Clip from Ghost

Every month, Decibel scribe Shane Mehling reviews the four videos that appear in the monthly metal mag. under “Decibel’s Clips of the Month at Metal Injection.” This month, watch picks from Lucifer, Ghost, KEN Mode and a classic clip from Refused

Myrkur – “Onde Born”

Okay, we have Myrkur herself running through a field, clearly needing to get somewhere, but I guess not that quickly since she also is stopping occasionally to do these sort of weird “feeling it” poses where she puts her hands in the air and just sort of, you know, feels it. There is also a burning M and a little girl, but the focus is really on her running and climbing and oh, there’s the ocean. Okay, so for the next minute is she going to swim out into the water and then the video will end like that, without any explanation whatsoever? Let’s see… Okay, well she brutally rolled down a hill for no reason and then pretty much yeah, that’s what happened. Great. Let’s move on.

Cradle of Filth – “Right Wing of the Garden Triptych”

Cradle of Filth has to bring something better than that, right? At least dumb enough to enjoy. And oh hell yeah, this is super stupid right away. A singing woman’s image on a flower, the drummer constantly looking at the camera and even pointing with his drumstick, Dani Filth sort of hopping around like he’s gonna rap, and on Vimeo you get to see a naked woman being tied up if naked women are what you’re into. And you get to see her a lot, like a ton, because the other option is a bunch of middle-aged parents ready for goth night. There is really no point in watching a censored version when a naked woman is about 50% of the video, but maybe you like your porn blurry so go nuts.

Chris Holmes – “Born Work Die”

What in the everloving fuck is this? Old tattooed guy bitching about his bills in a motorcycle garage and then he and his motorcycles buddies play in the garage and then he works on some motorcycles and then he plays with toy motorcycles and this over six minutes long. That, of course, allows us to watch him ride a bicycle and play pinball and drive a Mustang but I have to say, I’m not sure a video made outside of the bro-country genre could contain so much shit I am absolutely not into. More power to you, man, I will see myself out.

CLASSIC CLIP: Ghost – Year Zero

(Before I just reprint what I said last time, like with Cradle of Filth, go check out the uncensored joint on Vimeo)
So pretty much nothing happens in this video. Some ladies of various ages are sitting around a house until Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? shows up to have dinner and that’s about holy shit did they all just take off their shirts? Black bars or no, there are a bunch of now topless ladies in this video and… okay, then they dress up like the band and finish the song until Papa Emeritus throws up his Cardinal outfit to reveal his big black-barred dick. Well, they sure showed me.
