DAVE MUSTAINE Posts Video Of Himself Writing The Bass Part To "Dogs Of Chernobyl"

With a Dave Ellefson signature bass, of course.

Mustaine Bass

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has shared a video of himself writing the "Dogs Of Chernobyl" bass line. "Behind the scenes: Writing the bass-line for the verse of Dogs of Chernobyl on #thesickthedyingandthedead," said Mustaine in the caption of the video.

It's not clear when the video was originally shot, but Mustaine is sporting a David Ellefson signature 5-string Jackson bass. Ellefson was ejected from the band in 2021 after text exchanges and explicit FaceTime videos between Ellefson and a fan were posted online. Ellefson has since expressed his disappointment with his former bandmates, saying "You find out who your friends are and you find out who your friends aren't pretty fucking quick when the shit hits the fan."

Ellefson was replaced on Megadeth's new album The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! by Steve DiGiorgio despite Ellefson asking Mustaine not to do so. Former Megadeth bassist James LoMenzo has since rejoined the band after originally leaving in 2010.
