MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine Doubles The Price of His Cameo In Less Than A Week

Simple supply and demand at play.

Dave Mustaine 58th Birthday

Less than a week ago, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine announced he was now accepting requests on the video messaging service Cameo. It's safe to say that the demand for Mustaine birthday wishes and what-not was quite high, as in the last five days, Mustaine has made some pricing adjustments.

When the announcement was made, Mustaine began charging $150. Then, he quickly raised the fee to $200. Yesterday, it was $250, and currently sits at $300.

Basic rules of supply and demand say he was likely getting so much demand, that Mustaine would rather charge a bit more to do less work. With Cameo's 25% fee taken into consideration, if Mustaine does 10 at the $300 price point, that ends up being $2250 for a day's work or $11,250 for five days (or a week's) work. If he does it seven days a week, that's up to $15,750 a week. Not a bad payday.

If you're into a Mustaine Cameo booking, you may do so here.

Mustaine is busy finishing up his new album. Megadeth will also be touring with Lamb of GodTrivium and In Flames starting on August 20, so I'd imagine we'll know who their choice for a new bassist is by then the latest. Dates below.
