A video of Puddle of Mudd and Wes Scantlin doing an acoustic cover of Nirvana's "About A Girl" has gone viral, and not because it's good.
To be honest, it's nice to be writing about Wes Scantlin not in the context of him getting arrested. Scantlin has been sober since 2017, but before that he got in a lot of trouble. Scatlin made headlines when neighbors called the bomb squad on him. He was also wanted for no-showing a court appearance. after being arrested on for an outstanding warrant. This happened just one month after his band walked out on him for erratic behavior and two months after cops showed up in SWAT gear to arrest him. In 2018, he got arrested for trying to board a plane with a BB gun.
But, Scantlin's picked his life up. And of course, when the band was popular, there was comparisons between his voice and that of Nirvana vocalist Kurt Cobain. While they may have similar tone, Cobain's vocal range was a bit higher, and it leads to Scantlin signing the song terribly out of key:
The video has a 10 to 1 dislike to like ratio. Social media account Catatonic Youths was nice enough to edit together all the lowlights:

Look, times are not easy right now, so it's nice to sit back, relax and watch Puddle of Mudd attempt Nirvana covers.
Hope you're being safe!
