The Obsessed released its first album in 23 years this year, titled Sacred, and clearly hasn't missed a single beat in that time span. If you grabbed one of the limited edition copies of the album, you were treated to the bonus track "On So Long," and today we're more than excited to premiere a new acoustic version of the song! Sure, it retains all the prolonged distorted heaviness of the original, but really gets to the heart of its droning, almost Southern majesty when performed like this.
The Obsessed is fronted by legendary guitarist and vocalist Scott "Wino" Weinrich (ex-Saint Vitus, Shrinebuilder, Wino), and now backed by bassist Reid Raley (ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Rwake) and drummer Brian Costantino (ex-Insane, ex-Spirit Caravan). You can catch the band on tour starting later this month with Iron Tongue and Cobalt, depending on what show you catch.
