METALLICA Won A GRAMMY, ROB TRUJILLO Showed Up

Great.

Listen, let's get this out of the way right up top – the GRAMMYs are a joke and reporting on it is an obligation. But holy hell, Metallica's win for the Best Metal Performance award was just something else.

First off, whoever was in control of the walk-up music played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne. Which is noticeably not anything from Metallica's 72 Seasons or anything that Metallica ever wrote. But Robert Trujillo played bass for Ozzy in the past, so that… counts? Then there's the fact that Trujillo was the only one there to accept the award as "Lars, James, and Kirk could not be here as they're with their families."

Trujillo then joked that he lives in Southern California, and getting to the award show was easier before launching into a few thank yous. Which is awesome for Trujillo, as the dude is a legendary player and the whole world should know it; and good for everyone else for being at home with their families, as family is important. But this whole thing just feels like Metallica hardly giving a damn.

What else is there to say? The GRAMMYs certainly happened and they'll go down in history as an event that not only occurred, but one that we all reported on because it's the Internet. Here's who won in the rock and metal categories.
