The Sword has kicked off their new Conquest of Quarantine live-at-home series with a cover of T-Rex's "Children of the Revolution." The Sword recorded three songs for Conquest of Quarantine and will roll out the other two over the next two weeks.
"It was a lot of fun getting together with Kyle and Jimmy to record these tracks, and thanks to the miracles of modern technology we were able to lay down a wicked session with JD all the way from North Carolina," said bassist Bryan Richie. "Crank this from the comforts of your couch, Conquest of Quarantine brought to you with minimal overdubs and maximum rocking."
Conquest of Quarantine is a play on Conquest of Kingdoms, the new three LP collection from The Sword. The collection features 30 tracks (16 previously unreleased) including live versions “Freya,” “Iron Swan” and “Fire Lances of the Ancient Hyperzephyrians,” as well as cover versions of “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin, “Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings” by ZZ Top, “Forever My Queen” by Pentagram and more.
The Sword also release Chronology 2006–2018, a three CD collection featuring everything from Conquest of Kingdoms alongside The Sword’s greatest hits and fan favorites. Chronology 2006–2018 is 52 tracks (12 previously unreleased) and features expansive new liner notes with contributions from the band, plus Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Mark Morton (Lamb of God) and Neil Fallon (Clutch).
