Alright. So there's this band called Gnome called Antwerp that just released their new record King and it's awesome. Better yet, there's a single from it called "Wenceslas" that portrays the band as a bunch of dancing gnomes while one of the band members reads off some of the lyrics in the lower left-hand corner. And if you hate this, you hate both riffs and fun. Sorry, I don't make the rules.
In all seriousness, one listen through King and it'll become very obvious that Gnome is genuinely a killer band. The record is a perfect blend of progressive rock, stoner rock, and even some fairly growly sludge all wrapped up into one beautifully weird package. It's like Green Lung, Wobbler, and Corrosion Of Conformity had a kid. You need to check out King here. It might be one of my favorite things I've heard this year.
