Brooklyn-based trio The Phantom Eye is a psychedelic exploration of sound that combines spacey guitar with oscillating drum beats and captivating vocals. The whole sound is both hypnotic and heavy with elements of psychedelia and shoegaze and a strong sense of melancholy. Their latest single "Ease the Pain" evokes a sense of longing with the vocals offset by a striking rhythm throughout- with the final scream at the end fully capturing the pain in each of the previous notes.
"Ease the Pain" is taken from The Phantom Eye's upcoming debut EP Chromesthesia. Recorded by Justin Mantooth at Studio G in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Chromesthesia was originally conceived as an instrumental exploration of sounds, but the addition of the brooding vocals complete the sound and take it to the next level. Chromesthesia will be released on July 8th on all streaming platforms.
