Dude Chronicles The History Of Metal With One Riff For Every Year

Covering all the bases

If your not familiar with Italian YouTuber, multi-instrumentalist, and content creator Andrea "Boma" Boccarusso, he can be explained as a bit of a new-era music historian. Last year, his riff-style "History of Metal" video was rather impressive, featuring original music written, performed, and recorded by Boma himself, that touched on nearly every genre of metal one can think of (even djent).

Now, Boma is back with a new video: The History of Metal: One Riff For Every Year and, as advertised, Boccarusso runs through 22 riffs, including some of the finest from Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, and Megadeth, beginning in 1980 and going all the way through to 2022. That entry features the riff from one of Metallica's latest singles, "Lux Aeterna." You can check it out just above. As with his previous video, Boma covers every base imaginable, and a very well-represented tracklist can be found below.

Have any riffs from this brand new year caught your ear already? Tell Andrea, maybe he's already thinking about an updated video for 2023!
