Legendary film composer Danny Elfman has announced his first new solo album Big Mess for June 11, and is streaming a new single "True" right now. As with everything Elfman has been doing recently, the single comes with a very trippy music video, this time courtesy of Sarah Sitkin.
"The video is an exploration of fractured identity, muffled through the lens of memory," said Sitkin. "Danny is a central figure within the video, yet only in his reproduced likeness via prosthetics, masks, and 3D printed body parts. I wanted to make a video that was gritty, unpolished, and uncomfortable."
The new Danny Elfman album will include all the previous singles "Happy", "Sorry", "Love In The Time Of COVID", and "Kick Me". Pre-orders for the album are available here.
