We've been talking about a new Testament record for a few months now, but it seems like things are finally beginning to settle into place. In January, the group posted that it was demoing some new material without much in the way of future plans. So it's nice to hear vocalist Chuck Billy say that Testament is shooting to hit up the studio after touring is out of the way with Exodus this summer!
So sayeth a transcription by Loudwire:
“They [the songs] are constantly changing. They all just start with parts and ideas and hooks. They keep developing. I think we are at a stage where me and Eric [Peterson] have done a lot of demoing, just us two, and when we get out on the road over the next two or three months together we will have a lot of time to just work out what we have done on demoing and hopefully, by the time we get back in June/July we will hopefully be ready to get into the studio. This is nice that we get to go out and go on tour but we are actually looking forward to getting together and working on some new material together.”
The group is currently joined by bassist Steve DiGiorgio, who hasn't been in the group since 2004 and will be writing and recording the new jams. The band kick off their tour with Exodus today in San Francisco! Get dates here.
