A Roundup Of Bands Writing/Recording New Music

Over the last few days, there has been a lot of talk on the interwebs about various bands who are currently either writing a new record, or recording a new record, or planning to do so. Since we love you guys so much, we thought we'd create a little roundup for you so you can be up to speed. Here goes:

As we've mentioned before, Lamb of God are planning on spending a good chuck of 2011 writing a new record. During a recent interview with Gun Shy Assasin, drummer Chris Adler revealed the band plans to once again work with produce Josh Wilbur and are planning on entering the studio in July. I wonder if Randy's new buddy Vanilla Ice will be making any cameos (probably not!)

Arch Enemy have tweeted they are in the final week of pre-production and rehersals for a new album. I really dug their last record and look forward to what else these guys and gal have in store for us.

Trivium have pushed back the recording of their next record a month to January, according to a tweet from frontman Matt Heafy. He also recently mentions that he thinks he recently wrote the best song he's ever written.

Machine Head have begun demoing new material. Frontman Rob Flynn posted this image as proof of such happenings.

Amon Amarth are currently tracking their next release, which they announced will be called Surtur Rising. There is a planned Spring 2011 release date through Metal Blade.

Decapitated guitarist Vogg has posted on the band's Facebook that there is already a half-hour of new material for their next release also mentioning "You can expect as usual, album complately different than previous releases…but not as that different". The band plans to enter the studio in February.
