Seeing Obscura this weekend was one of the highlights of the Metal Suckfest. They are tighter than a schoolboy's anus. (I went there!) Also, without question, their 2011 release Omnivium, will make my year-end list. Which is why I'm super excited that the band is planning to self-release a collection of demos and covers in March of next year. The collection features demos, and scrapped songs from previous sessions as well as a few covers. The band is self-financing the release, so they have started a Kickstarter campaign to help get the funds to release this sucker. Some of the rewards for contributing are pretty awesome, such as lifelong free entry into Obscura shows or a dinner with the band. Here is the track listing as it currently stands:
“Obscura – ‘Illegimitation’ Demo” (2003):
– “…and all will come to an end“
– “Crucified“
– “Fear“
– “Immanent Desaster““Obscura – ‘Cosmogenesis Preproduction’” (2006):
– “Incarnated“
– “Open the Gates“
– “Headworm““Obscura – ‘Recording Session 2011′” (2011):
– “Flesh and the Power it Holds” (Death cover)
– “Piece of Time” (Atheist cover)
– “How Could I” (Cynic cover)
