Was the the only one who thought James LaBrie's last solo outing, Static Impulse, was pretty good?
The Dream Theater front man seems to have a bit of a melodic death metal lean when he's left to his own devices, and continues to travel that direction on his new track "Agony." I'm getting a real Soilwork vibe from the latest from his upcoming album Impermanent Resonance which isn't surprising since former Soilworker Peter Wichers had a hand in the album.

The line up will carry over from Static and will consist of
James LaBrie as well as, Peter Wildoer (Darkane) on drums/screams, Matt Guillory (ex-Mullmuzzer) on keyboards/background vocals, Marco Sfogli (Creation's End) on guitars and Ray Riendeau (ex-Halford) on Bass.
Impermanent Resonance drops this August via InsideOut.
