In addition to the positively insane Black Album reissue and accompanying covers album, Metallica has now announced the Metallica: The Black Album In Black & White book. The book is a compilation of photographs taken by Ross Halfin during the album sessions at One on One Studios in North Hollywood, CA and on the 300 date tour supporting the album between 1991 and 1993.
The Metallica: The Black Album In Black & White book features classic and previously unpublished photographs with introductions by Ross Halfin, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, then-bassist Jason Newsted and now-bassist Robert Trujillo, who performed on part of the tour with his band Suicidal Tendencies.
"By the time the songs and the recording were coming together, the confidence level was at an all-time high and we felt better than ever about who we were and how we viewed ourselves with regards to being photographed," said drummer Lars Ulrich of the book.
The book is out October 19 and is available for pre-order here.
