Max Cavalera was recently interviewed by Greek zine Metal Kaos and revealed some juicy details about his upcoming collaboration with The Dillinger Escape Plan's Greg Puciato and Mastodon's Troy Sanders.
While there has been discussion about it, the band is having trouble coming up with a name as any of the names they think of are already taken.
While they may be having a hard time coming up with a name, recording is a whole different story. The band has written 12 tracks for the record, with all the instrumentation fully recorded.
Vocals have been completed for half the tracks, as Greg Puciato had to leave for touring with The Dillinger Escape Plan. Max described the music as having the heaviness of Soulfly and the melody of Mastodon.
Max also revealed they are aiming for a mid-2014 release through Nuclear Blast, although I'm assuming he meant Nuclear Blast Entertainment, the sister-label which is run by A&R guru Monte Connor.
So basically, once Max wraps up Soulfly's current tour cycle and Greg wraps up Dillinger's, it'll be time to party. Although I just realized with Mastodon currently in the studio aiming for an early 2014 release, that would make Troy's availability in the middle of the year pretty limited. Damn all-stars and their busy schedules!
