Back in late 2012, The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman gave us an update on the recording schedule of Giraffe Tongue Orchestra. Just as a refresher, the band consists of Weinman, Mastodon vocalist and guitarist Brent Hinds, ex-Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery and ex-The Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore.
Nearly two years later and it's pretty obvious things got a little behind, but worry not! according to an interview conducted by The Live Addiction (below), Weinman says the group will be hitting up the studio with producer Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Korn) at the end of this month! It seems like the timing is perfect, as Dillinger is wrapping up their touring cycle and Mastodon has some time off in their current cycle before their fall tour with Gojira. The best thing about this collaboration is we have absolutely no idea what it will sound like. I can't wait to hear what they have in store for us.
