Mastodon dropped Once More 'Round The Sun in 2014 and it seemed to be pretty well-received by fans. Leading up to that release, the group talked about the possibility of following the album up with an EP of sorts. Once More 'Round The Sun was released and nothing was said about the EP. Now guitarist Brent Hinds posted a picture to his Instagram of himself playing a 13-string slide guitar… ready for this madness?
Okay, that actually looks pretty sweet. Can anyone tell us what that's tuned to? Is there some sort of interesting reason a slide guitar would need that many strings or is it just because having that wide array of options is awesome? Either way, we're down!
Not much is known past this image. Is Hinds tracking for this EP or something completely new? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
