This is really exciting news! King Diamond is currently in the midst of his Abigail tour, playing the landmark album from front to back, but what's next for the King? Turns out a new album!
Guitarist Andy LaRocque revealed in a new interview with The Metal Voice that the plan is to begin writing next year:
“We are going to have a little break after this tour, and after that break we are going to start writing music for the next album.
“We have some riffs but once we start getting into the process it’s going to be lots of brainstorming. It’s going to be somewhere around February.”
Wow! I can't even imagine what a new album from the King would sound like in 2016, but LaRocque is one of metal's most underrated guitarists, so I am sure it will deliver. I await with baited breath. Here is the full interview:
