Good news! King Diamond is back with a new single called "Spider Lilly". The single comes alongside a video by David Brodsky of My Good Eye: Music Visuals and also features King Diamond live vocalist Myrkur providing some additional backing vocals.
"What a dark but great experience," said Diamond, "Hopefully that was not the last video we will be able to film there. There are already several tales waiting to be told about all that has happened before, during, and after the birth of the song 'Spider Lilly'…"
Here's where things get interesting. King Diamond has long teased a double album called The Institute, but it seems things have maybe changed? The press release for "Spider Lilly" notes that the single is "the first single and video taken from King Diamond's forthcoming new Horror Trilogy, of which part one is titled Saint Lucifer's Hospital 1920."
So it sounds like we're getting way more King Diamond than we thought we were. Nice!
King Diamond is hitting the road across Europe this spring and summer for a handful of festival dates and some venue shows with Paradise Lost, Angel Witch, and Unto Others. Tickets are available here.
