King Diamond has been diligently working on the follow-up to his 2007 album Give Me Your Soul… Please for a few years. All we know thus far is that it's called The Institute and there's a song on there called "Masquerade Of Madness" that was released in 2019. Now in a rare Twitter, King Diamond has revealed he's working on a ton of lyrics for the record that "in due time" will be unveiled. So it's probably safe to assume that there's been serious progress on The Institute lately!
The last information we heard about the record came from guitarist Andy La Rocque in June, who said King Diamond wants to have the new record done before they hit the road again.
"Our goal is to go out on the road again when all this COVID stuff is over with. And before that, we need to have an album out there. So, we've got some pressure, yes," said La Rocque.
"King's got a lot of crazy ideas, of course. He's got the basic lines of the story already in his mind. And I have, actually, four or five songs that could be possible for the next album, and I know he's got tons of riffs and stuff going around in his head too. So, as soon as he sits down and gets it down on tape, it's gonna go fast."
