I was super excited to check this band out. As their music played I realized that the place in Star Wars is spelled Dagobah. At this point their fair to middling groove metal set in. I get why people might like it, but Fear Factory did this already. I like that it's French for some reason though.

Dream Theater – Live At Luna Park 376328

Genre: Prog Metal
Origin: Boston, Massachusetts
Label: Eagle Rock

Roadrunner and Eagle Rock might be over saturating the Dream Theater market this year. I suppose it's kinda neat to hear newish drummer Mike Mangini tear up older material in a professionally recorded setting, but the self-titled album seems like it JUST came out. I do enjoy seeing just how much shit they use in a live show these days though.

Melvins – Tres CabronesMelvins

Genre: Melvins
Origin: Montesano, Washington
Label: Ipecac

Buzz and the guys are just doing whatever the fuck they want these days, huh? Mixed in their batch of crazy quasi-sludge songs are covers of "99 Bottles of Beer on The Wall," "You're In The Army Now," and of course "Tie My Peck To A Tree." Adorable goat though.

Tides From Nebula – Eternal Movement 51EI6FbqU5L

Genre: Instrumental Atmospheric Post Rock
Origin: Warsaw, Poland
Label: SPV

While "metal" seems like a strong word for these guys, boy howdy are they awesome. This album is pure melody, atmosphere and beauty. This one is right up there with this year's Scale The Summit and Cloudkicker records as one of the best instrumental records of the year.
