We just received some important news concerning one of Metal Injection's tech-death favorites, Gorod. It would appear there has been some member changes going on in the band, including new vocalist Julien "Nutz" Deyres, who will replace Guillaume Martinot. Also joining the new line up is guitar player Nicolas Alberny, he replaces Arnaud Pontaco who left the band due to health problems. This is all a bit of a shocker to me after seeing these guys earlier this year in great spirits here in NYC. None the less, I'm stoked to see what the next chapter of Gorod brings to the table.
But wait! There's more!
Gorod is now wrapping up their forthcoming EP entitled Transedence which is to include a number of re-recordings from previous releases, as well as a cover of the Cynic song "Textures". The EP is based around the title track which is said to be a 15 minute long tech death opus that also includes guest vocalist Ross Dolan of Immolation. If all that wasn't enough goodies for one package, the release will be accompanied by a DVD that includes a full recording of a home town show, photo galleries and select performance clips from their 2010 tour, and a soundtrack of Gorod performing live at the WFMU radio station in New Jersey. Can you say STOKED!?
If you haven't yet, check out the below studio report from earlier this year.
