Fear Factory's Genexus album came out in late 2015 and was probably one of my personal favorites from the group thus far. It was the first album to feature ex-Static X bassist Tony Campos and Malignancy drummer Mike Heller, alongside the usual lineup of Dino Cazares and Burton C. Bell.
In a recent interview with Loudwire, Cazares says the band is already working on a followup to Genexus, and hopes to have it out sometime mid-2017.
“Right now we’re going to be home and doing a new record. We’re writing already and in the process of doing a new record, but it probably won’t be out until late summer of next year or maybe even October. I’m not exactly sure.”
Cazares says the new album isn't going to be some massive left turn for Fear Factory stylistically, but more of what everyone loves and done even better than before. He also adds that there could be an Obsolete 20th anniversary tour, but that it likely won't happen until 2018.
