While Fair To Midland never explicitly issued a statement saying they were done, longtime drummer Brett Stowers confirmed in the comments of a 2022 Reddit post that the following assessment of what happened to the band is true: "At one point Brett actually had a pretty lengthy FB post up explaining a lot of the details, and it basically said the same thing as everyone here: monetary issues, people being at different places in their life, and all that jazz. It’s either been taken down or is no longer public at this point."
In that same thread, Stowers also mentioned that any rumors of issues between Fair To Midland and System Of A Down vcalist Serj Tankian's old label Serjical Strike were false. "I also feel like I should point out the stuff above about Serjical Strike is total BS," he added. "Serj and George are lovely, wonderful people."
