Dave Mustaine To Guest Solo On The Next BODY COUNT Record

Man, the new Body Count record is shaping up to be a must-listen. We've already named it as one of our most anticipated releases of 2017 and with good reason.

We've already heard a tease of the intense lead single "No Lives Matter" and if that is any indication, Ice-T is about to ruffle some features. Today, we get news of a new collaborator.

Dave Mustaine revealed in a series of tweets that he recorded a new solo for the album. When a fan asked if Mustaine had been in the studio lately, Mustaine responded "I did a solo for the new Body Count record." Ice-T quickly confirmed the news, quoting Mustaine's tweet and writing "Yes you did! And KILLED IT!" The mututal adulation continued as Mustaine responded "I had to. The song is badass! Glad you dig it! By far my fave guest appearance. Thanks again!"

Mustaine previously teased that Megadeth would be taking Body Count out for a few dates this summer.

“We’re talking about a very large tour next summer with five bands on it with us. It’s going to be more of a guest appearance than a direct support kind of thing.” Mustaine tells Metal Hammer. “We’ve been looking at a lot of interesting acts, but for me I don’t always try and pick out the flavor of the month — I have loyalty to my friends. I always thought that Body Count, while if not for everybody, I thought it was great. It’s not your normal metal band. It’s cool to see somebody crossing over from the hip-hop world into the metal world.”

As for other guest appearances, we also learned former God Forbid guitarist Doc Coyle and members of Sevendust contributed writing to the album, Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera guests on the track "All Love Is Lost," and Lamb of God's Randy Blythe on "Walk With Me."

Body Count's not-yet-titled new album is due in March.
