It's been 11 years since we've heard new Tool music and all of the sudden things are moving at a fever pace. Drummer Danny Carey has been pretty adamant about the new album coming this year, guitarist Adam Jones says the music is done and lyrics are being written.

This weekend, Maynard James Keenan, who has been shooting down any rumors that the album is anywhere near completion, supplied a pretty meaty update to fans saying he has lyrics written to all but one song:

MetalSucks noted that the now infamous photo Adam Jones posted of the instrumentalists of Tool posing with Sebastian Bach and King Buzzo had the caption changed.

Originally, the caption read:

“Huge fun & honor performing all the new tunes for Guinea pigs Sebastian & #KingBuzz b4 the recording starts in April. Still instrumentals with Mjk in town working on killer lyrics. Exciting!”

March! That's next month. Jones also confirmed in another post that Maynard is joining the band for three weeks in March, likely to finish writing and recording.
