Nothing makes me feel older than seeing news of body modification trends. I just don't get it. When the kidz started fucking with ear gauges about a decade ago, I didn't get it. Being an old, all I kept thinking was "aren't you going to regret that in 20 years?" I guess some have went back on their gauges and gotten reconstructive surgery.
Well, ear gauges seem like child's play compared to what I just saw. Instead of just putting a hole in the ear lobe, there's a dude now who just wants to cut out the entirety of the outside of the ear.
As the post notes, this should not affect hearing, except for one crucial point. "It might impair your ability to hear the direction of sound for the first week or two until your mind has adjusted to your new ears."
The modder defends the practice noting "Our ears doesn't 'catch' sound as it did eons of years ago when our ears were bigger hence why we have to create a bigger 'ear' by cupping our hand around our ear to hear better."
Yea, I'm out.
These photos were obviously taken right after the mod was made, with stitches still in tact.
