Finally! King Diamond is playing the States again this Fall at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX. Other metal acts playing the fest include Judas Priest, Amon Amarth, Sick of It All, Pallbearer, Glassjaw, Iron Reagan and more.
In fact, here's the entire list of bands playing the black stage:
Judas Priest, King Diamond, Death From Above 1979, Rocket From The Crypt, Death Grips, Gorilla Biscuits, Blood Brothers, Amon Amarth, Black Lips, Hot Water Music, Iceage, Sick of It All (blood sweat/scratch the surface anniversary set), Deafheaven, Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, METZ, Pissed Jeans, Glassjaw, Pallbearer, The Bots, Iron Reagan, Pianos Become Teeth, Fat White Family, Radkey, Twin Peaks, Crooked Bangs, Communion, Breakout
Our compadres at MetalSucks seem to think that this would mean that Judas Priest and King Diamond might be touring together this fall, because why would either book just one gig in the fall? I'm not so certain, because King Diamond is still recovering from his heart condition a few years ago so I can very much see this being a one-off show for him. After all, he lives in Dallas so it isn't too far a trek for him to make.
