Bare with me here as I am speculating. We've been waiting and speculating about a King Diamond tour for at least two years now and it looks like we may finally get our wish.
Again, I'm speculating, but here's why I think it's possible…
King Diamond was announced for this year's Fun Fun Fest happening November 7, 8 and 9th.
Today, Horns Up Rocks reports that they called the Best Buy Theater in NYC who confirmed that King Diamond will be playing the Times Square location Tuesday, October 14th (tickets on sale next Friday, June 20th).
Now you don't have to be a math wizard to figure out both shows are about a month apart. It does not take a month to drive to Austin from New York City. Wouldn't it make sense for the King to make some further stops along the way? I sure think so!
Update: Twitter fan @ItsRichardAgain informed us that there is also a Houston date that cropped up. We can indeed confirm, thanks to this link, that King Diamond is scheduled for House of Blues Houston on November 5th.
The King was interviewed in February promising a tour, saying:
It's gotta happen next autumn. It's got to happen, and with full production, with the full thing. If it's done the right way, if it's done in a way where we could have full physical production, even in those theaters where we play…
We reached out to King Diamond's label to see if they would comment if he was touring or not, but have not heard back at the time of publishing. If they respond, we will update you but we think it's a safe bet!
