When we reported last year that King Diamond had to undergo triple bypass heart surgery, things were not looking good for the King. And we were bummed, because nobody puts on a show like King F'N Diamond. Now my buddies in MetalSucks are reporting that we can expect His Majesty on the road sooner, rather than later.
A post on the official King Diamond website states that he just signed a deal with two major booking agenies for tours: ICM and The Agency Group. In the statement, there are hints of tours in the near future (emphasis added by me):
“It is great to be in the top professional hands of Nick [Storch at ICM] and Paul [Ryan at The Agency Group]. They both come highly recommended by Brian Slagel of Metal Blade, who personally suggested the partnership that is now in effect. ICM and The Agency Group have so much combined experience, which will open new doors for us. When it comes to getting us back on stage again, we all agree on how to bring King Diamond to a whole new level. Within a few weeks, we should be able to announce the first part of our plan.
WELCOME ON BOARD AND STAY HEAVY.” – King
If those two sentences weren't enough to get you excited, His Majesty added this little bit at the end of the message:
There’ll be a lot more great news coming the next couple of weeks. It’s been difficult keeping everything under wraps, but soon it will all be out in the open.
Man, oh man, do I want to see King Diamond live. I've recently been re-discovering his back catalogue, and need more King in my life!
