DARK TRANQUILLITY Is Touring Next Year (Without Their Bassist)

While we're not quite through with 2013, 2014 is slowly beginning to take form as a good year now that Dark Tranquillity have announced they'll be touring North America! So what's this business about not having a bassist?

So before I please or disappoint you with the tour dates also starring Omnium Gatherum and Exmortus, let's get into the fact that Dark Tranquillity will not be bringing a bassist on tour. According to their Facebook:

“Those of you who have seen us play this year might have noticed that we haven’t had a bass player on stage. Construct was written and recorded as a five-piece, and since the band chemistry is at an all-time high and we’ve never been the ones to shy away from new creative solutions, we wanted to try out playing with the bass on a backing track as opposed to bringing more flesh and blood to the fold. Much to our delight the results have been great, and we have decided for now to let the band be represented on stage by the five people who have spent a total of more than 100 years in the service of D.T.”

Interesting, but if it makes the band happy and makes for a solid show then whatever. At least the bass playing at every show will be flawless… right? Thinkin' positive! Anyway, here are the tour dates. They're pretty all over the place so I'm going to assume everyone got covered by them, especially you Canada (or more than usual it seems). Here you go:
