BLACK SABBATH News Roundup: Album Update; Australia Tour Dates; OZZFEST Japan News

A few weeks ago, we were really excited to learn that Black Sabbath was in the studio recording vocals, with 15 tracks already completed. You can get that full report here. What we didin't know then, is what sort of time-frame the band was working on to get the album out to the masses. Now we know! In a recent press release touting the band's upcoming tour of Australia (more info in a minute), they let it be known that the band is working towards an April 2013 release. That's only 6 months until we hear new music from SABBBAAATTHHH!

Now onto the tour news:

The band has announced their first Australian shows in nearly 40 years. Tickets go on sale November 8th, so get on that. I'm assuming the band hopes to have the album released by these dates:

04/25 Brisbane, AUS – Entertainment Centre
04/27 Sydney, AUS – Allphones Arena
05/01 Melbourne, AUS – Rod Laver Arena
05/04 Perth, AUS – Perth Arena

In other news, we reported last week, that Ozzfest is going to Japan, on May 11th and 12th (right after their Australian tour, natch) and they have just announced a blockbuster direct support act: Slipknot. To all of our Japanese fans, first konichiwa, and second…DO NOT MISS THIS.

You have to think that with a new album, the band would at least be considering playing a few more shows stateside this Summer. We can only hope!
