Exhale, Slipknot fans!
As Shaun "Clown" Crahan is out promoting his new movie, Officer Downe, he revealed that Slipknot will begin writing their new album next February when he meets up with guitarist Jim Root to start getting basic ideas. He later elaborated that the band will spend all of 2017 writing a new record.
Naturally, many Slipknot fans are excited and one tweeted at Corey Taylor for clarification if it was true that Slipknot would begin working on a new album next year. Taylor clarified via tweet saying "not really" and that the band would only begin writing next year but won't enter the studio until two years from now…

We were predicting that Slipknot's new album wouldn't be released until Summer 2018 the earliest, but it looks like if they're just hitting the studio in 2018, we might be waiting until 2019 for new Slipknot.
