Did you know Ted Nugent is not racist? The man says so himself, and doesn't Ted Nugent seem like a trustworthy person? In fact, Nugent is so far from being racist, that during a recent livestream, he revealed that he is in fact anti-racist.
Nugent would say during the chat “Everybody who pays attention — not the ones who call me a racist, but the people who are actually honest and pay attention know that I have paid homage and reverence to the black heroes of music all my life, which means I’m the anti-racist. So if you find somebody who calls Ted Nugent a racist, you are looking at a subhuman piece of shit who lives a lie.”
Even though the Anti-Defamation League has called the below post Nugent made "conspiratorial anti-Semitism," Nugent went on to claim he is not only not racist, but in fact the most flattering compliment he's gotten has been being called the N-word.
"I'm a living, walking, breathing passionate music lover that was in the eye of the music storm at the most important time in the history of music, coming right out of the electrification of the guitar by Les Paul. And how Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley and The Ventures and Duane Eddy and Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley took that Black music, and we celebrated it in song."
He went on to recall a show where his band won a contest to open for the Supremes. “I was a kid. Had no idea about the world of professionalism or music, but we were so dedicated to play like the Funk Brothers, like Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard. The authenticity of that Black dynamic and emotion and defiance and celebration of ‘free, free at last,’” he explained.

This is where he recalled the greatest compliment he had ever been paid. “They’re watching us, kind of snickering. And the biggest, baddest, Blackest Funk Brother of all stood up and started moseying over towards us. So we’re putting our guitars away, the Funk Brother, big ol’ Black dude comes up, puts his hand on my shoulder and goes, ‘That was great stuff, boys. You keep playing guitar like that, you’re gonna be a n****r when you grow up.'”
Previously, Nugent revealed he lost a sponsor for his hunting show because of the alleged perceived racism. Nugent stated (transcription via Blabbermouth) "Just last week… I'm not gonna name names right now, because the people that supported me are a segment of a huge global corporation. And they were a sponsor on our Spirit Of The Wild show, that helped finance Spirit Of The Wild and put it on the Outdoor Channel and promote conservation. And the mothership called the sponsor company and said, 'You can't sponsor Nugent. He's a racist.'"
You may also recall the time Nugent was awarded custody from the parents of his seventeen year old girlfriend to avoid any statutory rape charges. American dream, folks!
