Bawitdaba, da bang, da dang diggy diggy
Diggy, said the boogie, said up jump the senate.
That's what Michigan Republicans are hoping will be a rallying cry (I made that up) as today, they've begun lobbying for hometown boy Kid Rock to run for senate. Rock made political news a few months ago, when he released a line of classy shirts supporting America's 45th president.
Roll Call reports that the Michigan Republican Party convention last weekend, Rock's name was floated around to replace Democrat Debbie Stabenow, who has held her senate seat since 2001. But, with Trump's victory in Michigan during the Presidental election, Repubs think they have a chance to claim the seat when it comes up for reelection in 2018.
Rock has actively campaigned for Mitt Romney in the state, and threw his support behind Ben Carson in the 2016 election, until Trump was the nominee, then he was a Trump man.
It's great that Republicans are all for Kid Rock, but does the man whose mother refers to him as Bob Ritchie even want the job, when he is making millions just singing "Bawitdaba" over and over again?
