Keep music out of politics? Not for Knocked Loose. The Kentucky metalcore band got some indirect press at a Bernie Sanders rally last year, but with tomorrow being a big day for Democratic primaries, they felt they needed to make their voices heard on who they are backing for the nomination to run against incumbent Senate Majority Leader, Republican Mitch McConnell.
On the Democratic side, there is a very close race between establishment candidate Amy McGrath and up-and-coming progressive Charles Booker. McGrath had the lead for most of the race, but with the recent unrest in the country, Booker has been showing signs of life.
Knocked Loose officially endorsed Booker, writing "Charles Booker has proven to be a fearless leader who will fight for and alongside Kentucky. We believe that living a healthy, happy life without fear shouldn't be reserved for the rich. Only Charles Booker can defeat McConnell and make the changes necessary to create a truly inclusive future."
