The Grammys were sort of an eventful evening for heavy metal this year. I said sort of! Of course, the night kicked off with Ghost winning the Best Metal Performance Grammy, and the amazing video of them accepting the award while everybody around them doesn't understand what's happening is already viral gold. We also spotted Justin Bieber wearing another Metallica t-shirt, whatever. And of course, there was actual metal on the main show, and all that had to happen for that was Lemmy had to die. All kidding aside, Alice Cooper's Hollywood Vampires tribute to Lemmy was awesome.
But Grammy-nominated metal band almost didn't make it to the award show. August Burns Red, who were also nominated for Best Metal Performance got stuck on the elevator on the way to the Grammys. Awkward:
Stuck in the elevator on our way to @thegrammys. Thank you to the LA fire department for getting us out so quickly! pic.twitter.com/W9zEjdhvNz

The LA fire department were true heroes, even giving the band a lift to the venue:
Another shout out to the LA fire department for giving us a ride on their truck to the red carpet. ??

August Burns Red eventually made it onto the carpet…
As did fellow nominees Sevendust…
Brian "Head" Welch of Korn also spotted on the carpet…
Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry, the Hollywood Vampires, walked the carpet, showing off their matching rings…
Dave Grohl, and his lovely wife Jordyn Blum were also there…
After their win, Ghost posed with Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Recording Academy John Poppo
Here's a few more of Ghost…
