1973 – Black Sabbath was putting out Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Led Zeppelin was doing Houses Of The Holy. The two legendary bands nearly worked together under Zeppelin's record label Swan Song, but according to Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi in an interview with Classic Rock Magazine, they couldn't make that work.

Iommi also states the two bands jammed together during theSabbath Bloody Sabbath sessions and that the tape might still exist somewhere. Zeppelin drummer John Bonham wanted to play Black Sabbath's "Supernaut," but the two bands just ended up jamming instead.

"We were really good mates with Led Zeppelin, especially Robert Plant and John Bonham who came from the Midlands. Zeppelin had wanted us to be on their label, Swan Song, but we couldn't make it work out.

"During the recording of the 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' album, Zeppelin came into the studio for a jam. John wanted to play 'Supernaut' but we jammed instead.

"We were in the middle of recording so it fucked up the session. I know that it was recorded, and I'd love to hear it. The tape must be around somewhere."

Now if we could just find those tapes, but what to call it? Black Zeppelin? Led Sabbath? Blackened Led Zeppabbath?
