Heavy Metal, the world's premier illustrated magazine for science fiction, horror, and fantasy, will be taking a very heavy metal angle to its next issue. The magazine will illustrate songs from artists like Slipknot, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Code Orange, High On Fire,  and Mastodon, and will even feature a story from Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small!

“‘Heavy Metal’ has a music festival worthy lineup of song adaptations coming your way! SLIPKNOT’s first appearance in the magazine. Megadeth’s ‘The Skull Beneath The Skin’ written by Tim Seeley. Mastodon get otherworldly with a story written and illustrated by Realm creator, Jeremy Haun. Tenacious D’s ‘Metal’ is coming in hot from God Hates Astronuats creator, Ryan Browne. Alex De Campi & Tony Parker bring you Amon Amarth’s ‘Berserker.’ Other adaptations of Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Code Orange, High on Fire, Ho99o9, Evanescence, and more! Two original stories, one by Metalocalypse creator, Brendon Small & Joe Satriani and a crazy ‘Heavy Metal’ demon comedy fest from Dan Fogler, Burney aka Batdog and Justin Mohlman, The Ghoul Screamer.”

Ho99o9 has shared their spread from the magazine for their song "Master Of Pain", while Code Orange has done the same for their song "The Hunt". The issue of Heavy Metal in which all these artists will appear still has a TBD for a release date, so stay tuned!
