KORN To Unveil Something on Wednesday (Possibly A New Song?)

Last week, Korn began teasing what we assume is their next album. Korn recorded the new album earlier in the yearwith producer Nick Raskulinecz (MastodonDeftones). Last week, The Korn website then says "WATCH IT ALL FALL DOWN …" and asks for your email address. Today, the band posted two updates. One had the phrase "06.26" – which we assume means June 26, which is this Wednesday and the other pointed to Korn's site.

Going to Korn's website, you get an image board, where two of the images are revealed. The two images are the ones on their Instagram page:

We're going to assume this just leads to a nine photo collage of whatever the cover of the album, or perhaps single, would be.

Either way, we're two days out from a big Korn announcement. Will they just announce the album or will we get new music as well?

In an interview with Consequence Of Sound last December, guitarist Brian "Head" Welch made it clear most of the instruments aren't recorded, and they might not be done writing yet:

“At this time, guitars aren’t finished, and I don’t know if we’re done writing. We’ve written a lot, but I’m not sure if we’re done writing yet. Bass is not done. Most of the drums are done on the songs we have, and a little bit of vocals have been worked on.”

In a new interview with Revolver, guitarist Brian "Head" Welch says that Korn wrote some new songs with Goldfinger's John Feldmann and Blink-182's drummer Travis Barker, though the latter of which worked mainly on drums. Welch also says "we're writing with different people."

"We're doing it all over. We've been to Nashville a few times, we've done a lot in L.A. We actually wrote with John Feldmann, too, for the demos. Travis Barker laid the temporary drums for some, and that was cool. We've known John Feldmann since '87 — he was in Electric Love Hogs. So we're writing with different people. We grabbed [producer] Nick Raskulinecz, and he's very hands on and such a fan of music. It's not a job or a gig to him."

No word on if Mike Huckabee will be on the album. Perhaps the band got a chance to get some pointers from Ed Sheeran, since he's such a professed big fan.
